I recently decided to move my self-injury page from Tripod and its affiliates. I plan on moving all of my sites to my new location eventually. My reason is this: advertising. I find it appalling that in spite of my selecting against it, Tripod inserts ads that are inappropriate for a healing site. I am annoyed that while once there was a single pop up or a single ad in the main frame of my site alone, visitors now must tolerate a pop up and several inserted ads despite my changing preferences to minimize ads. While I appreciate that Tripod is providing a free service, it seems that greater traffic to my many sites, which Tripod has hosted since 1995, has resulted in greater advertising that I find objectionable.
